Global Perspective
Randolph is truly a global community. An international perspective is one of the hallmarks not only of the College’s educational program, but of the entire Randolph experience.
- NAFSA: Association of International Educators honored the College for exemplary work in internationalizing the campus (one of only 16 nationwide), citing the pervasiveness of global education on such a small campus as a model for other institutions.
- Twelve percent of the student body comes from countries outside the United States. At Randolph, you will live, learn, work, dine, play, dance and share four years with students from 40 different countries. The flags of their native countries are displayed in the student center throughout the year and in front Main Hall on special occasions. There are numerous cross-cultural experiences, like the Pan World Coffeehouses and other events from a variety of student clubs.
- Through the Quillian Visiting International Professor Program, you will meet international scholars who teach new facinating courses each year.
- You will find your courses enriched by your faculty members’ experiences in other countries, from the study of crows in Ireland to the study of coffee growing in Guatemala.
- You will see the world through international study seminars in places like Ecuador, Japan, Mexico, Russia and Italy. You will be encouraged to study abroad with our flagship program in Reading, England, affiliated programs in Denmark, Spain, or France, or work with our international programs advisor to design your own.
- You will meet international leaders like Mary Robinson, Sheik Hasina, Corazon Aquino and other winners of the Pearl S. Buck Award. Named for the College’s most notable alumna, the award recognizes a remarkable woman whose life and work represent compassion, creativity, commitment to human rights, care for children, and a positive vision of the world community.
- You will travel to New York as part of our Model United Nations team.
- You will not only attend, but you will organize lectures and seminars with guest artists and scholars from around the world - which focus on issues and topics that reach beyond our borders.
