About Randolph College

Randolph College is the newest name in higher education. But it’s also a venerable institution with a 116-year history of academic excellence and a rich array of time-honored traditions.

That’s because Randolph was founded in 1891 as Randolph-Macon Woman’s College. On December 9, 2006, we officially changed our name and in the fall of 2007, we will begin admitting men. We are also enhancing our academic program to incorporate a global perspective throughout the curriculum.

What hasn’t changed are the essential elements of the Randolph-Macon experience. At Randolph, you’ll find a rigorous academic program rooted in the timeless value of the liberal arts and the sciences. You’ll get personal attention from professors who care about each student. You’ll join a diverse community of students from 40 states and 44 countries and a wide range of activities.

You’ll also find an ideal location. The college town of Lynchburg, Virginia, at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offers limitless opportunities for outdoor recreation and on-the-town fun.
